Smooth Flow Pumps for Demanding Applications

KNF technology for minimal pump pulsation. Since many applications take place in close contact with patients, pump pulsation is often noticeable to them and can cause discomfort. Smooth Flow Technology counteracts this, increasing patient comfort and their recovery.

Diaphragm pumps offer a number of advantages for demanding applications in the inkjet and medical sectors: They are particularly clean, operate oil-free, are gentle in handling liquids, and are characterized by particularly high leak tightness. They can move aggressive and abrasive media and are reliable and safe in operation. One of the few counter-arguments is their pulsation. Like all positive displacement pump technologies - including peristaltic, gear and piston pumps - diaphragm pumps generate pulsation. For this reason, KNF has developed several liquid pumps with a special Smooth Flow Technology, which are characterized by particularly low pump pulsation.

The KNF FP 70 is part of the Smooth Flow series.

Minimal pump pulsation - Essential for medical applications.

Many of the advantages of Smooth Flow diaphragm liquid pumps that are important for inkjet applications are also relevant for medical technology. Here, too, a particularly clean transfer of media is required and hose connections have a similar effect. However, for medical applications in particular, there are other key advantages: Since many applications take place in close contact with patents, pump pulsation is often perceptible to them and can cause discomfort. Smooth Flow Technology counteracts this, increasing patient comfort and thus supporting the recovery process.

5-membrane technology

By superimposing the current and the pulses generated by the individual membranes, a very high yet uniform flow is achieved in the diaphragm fluid pump. This supports efficient pumping of liquids through long hoses with smaller diameters, as pumps with low pulsation reduce pressure drop. It also minimizes hose vibration, which can have a negative impact on the printing process.

Wobble eccentric

At speeds up to 4,000 rpm, the wobble eccentric converts the rotational motion of the motor into a linear motion needed to drive the diaphragms. All this is done with virtually no vibration or noise, and with only minimal forces acting on the motor hardware. This ensures long, maintenance-free and highly reliable performance of the diaphragm liquid pump in the customer's system

Integrated BLDC motor

A brushless DC (BLDC) motor in a sealed IP65 alloy housing supports the low-pulsation flow enabled by the five diaphragms, allowing precise adjustment of flow rate between 0.2 and 1.5 1/min. The benefits of BLDC motors in smooth flow pumps include virtually wear-free drives, long life and quiet operation with minimal vibration
